Zion Gate MB Church was organized in July 1958, by the late Reverend John E. Thompson Sr. in a garage off the alley of Willow and North Chicago Avenue.
In May of 1960, Zion Gate moved to their second church building at 655 N. Harrison.
On September 1, 1984, Zion Gate moved to its current home at 752 East Oak Street, Kankakee, IL.
On October 26, 1993, Ronald L. Bartlett answered the call to pastor Zion Gate.
We have a long, proud history of serving the people of Kankakee. Through the dedication of our leadership, staff members and volunteers, we are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message.
